I have realized that I have a tendency of taking on challenging projects whenever I am going through a challenging time. Crazy, right?
Here’s an example: In 2025, while heavily pregnant, I answered a call to hold the second Voices of Reason workshop where I share skills that I have acquired as a voice-over artist and writer.

Now, I genuinely enjoy being in spaces with women, especially while we all explore our firsts.
“What if I don’t exactly want to be a voice-over artist but want to attend the workshop?”
This is a question that has popped up both times when I announced that I was holding a class, and I would like to give a comprehensive response today.
So, this workshop offers young women more than just the promise of making it in the industry.
Stay with me:
· Confidence in Public Speaking
Many young women struggle with speaking up in meetings, interviews, presentations, or community settings. Voice training helps you to project confidence, improve articulation, and speak with authority. When you know better, you speak better. Yeah?
· Personal Branding
A strong voice is part of a strong personal brand. Participants learn how they come across to others and how to communicate more effectively both online and offline. You should be in the room to see how women speak about themselves or their work and how we applaud each other.
· Communication Skills for Work and Business
The skills learned can be applied in:
Presentations, Sales and marketing, Customer service, Teaching and training, Media appearances, Advocacy and leadership roles et cetera.
· Digital and Creative Economy Opportunities
Voice-over is an entry point into the growing creative economy. Participants may discover opportunities in:
Podcasting, Content creation, Radio, Audio books, E-learning narration, YouTube channels, social media content production, among others.
· Increased Self-Awareness
Listening to recordings of oneself can be transformative. Many women gain insight into their speech patterns, confidence levels, accents, pacing, and communication habits.
Lord, this is one of the favorite parts of the session. When women record their first professional voice-over, and playback!
· Networking and Community Building
Workshops create connections among women from different sectors and backgrounds. These relationships can lead to collaborations, mentorship, referrals, and friendships. I particularly love to see women running their small businesses turning up, and leaving with potential clients.
· Leadership Development
Leadership often depends on how effectively one communicates. Voice training helps women command attention, tell compelling stories, and influence audiences.
· Storytelling Skills
Whether you are a journalist, NGO professional, entrepreneur, or mother, you benefit from learning how to tell stories that engage and inspire others.
· Healing and Self-Expression
For some women, finding and using their voice is deeply personal and the workshop has become a safe space to express themselves, overcome self-doubt, and be heard.
So, will I be seeing you at the 3rd edition of Voices of Reason?
